About 5000 km from Bombay,
India it's much nearer to Australia and Europe. It's a volcanic island
of 47 km to 64km.The democratic republic of Mauritius is a member of the
commonwealth in the Indian Ocean. As a visitor and guest you will have the

Mauritius , the isle with different faces is a fleck in the huge Indian
Ocean somewhere off Africa, Australia and the Antarctic. If you stand on the
height of Trou aux cerfs you will have a magnificent view of the whole
island. You will see the sugar cane fields, the forest and the sea ,and also
the coral reefs that protect the island from giant waves .
